What Class Types Do We Have at Ripple Effect?

At Ripple Effect, we’ve got three different class types currently offered in our group class program! All levels and abilities are welcome — any workout in any group class can be modified to work for you. Typically we release our workouts for all classes about a week ahead of time, so you can see what the workout is before you sign up. All group class signups are done through the Kilo app. Any group class member can attend any type of class!

Remember, a coach will be leading you through all the parts of the class, from the warm up all the way to the cool down at the end. If you look at a workout before class and think, “I have no what any of this means!”…that’s okay! Come anyway and we’ll guide you through every step of the way.

Here are our three group class types as of Spring 2026:

Standard Group Class: This is our most commonly offered class type! Some days will be strength-based, some will focus more on conditioning, and many days will have a mix of both. It’s a general fitness program to help you be stronger, faster, more resilient to injury, and teach your body how to move confidently in lots of different ways!

BEST FOR: General fitness, including strength and conditioning

Functional Bodybuilding: Offered Mondays & Wednesdays at 5:30pm, this class is always strength focused, but with a bit of a twist to it. Functional bodybuilding has the dual goal of building muscle mass, while also helping us build stability and control in our movements. You won’t often be lifting super heavy in this class, but you’ll be spending a lot of time under tension: long sets of light/medium weights, often performed with a specific tempo. It’s a very different type of “hard” if you haven’t done it before.

BEST FOR: Folks who want to build muscle, and/or don’t want to do burpees <3

Barbell Club: Offered on Thursdays, Barbell Club isn’t really a club — we just practice Olympic lifting! The snatch and clean & jerk are complex, challenging movements that take a lot of practice, so we dedicate Thursdays to these each week. All levels are welcome, even if you’re a complete Oly lifting noob!

BEST FOR: Anyone who wants to improve at Olympic lifting, general strength

Speciality Classes

Occasionally throughout the year we’ll also run speciality classes aimed at a specific group of people or specific type of movement.

Some examples:

— Mighty Movers class for kids 6-11

— Teen Strength for teens 12-18 years old

— Weekend Recharge yoga classes
